Surely Not! Acts 10

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show
favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what
is right.  -- Acts 10:34-35
I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of The Church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament church. Dare we believe it?

Chapter 10
FATHER, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 10...

*  Increase our faith to expect you to speak to men and women today who seek Your face regularly in prayer. Like Cornelius, may we see in the Spirit distinctly! (v.1-3)

* Continue to speak to us specifically today and give us specific direction and assignment to connect us to others. Remind us that we are often the response to someone else's prayers, and through prayer may we be prepared for our assignment to encourage, serve, and share Christ with them. (v. 3-9)

* Give us dreams and interpretation when we may not be receptive in waking hours. When we respond, "Surely not!" in unbelief, thank you for multiple opportunities to allow You to shift our mindset and broaden the tent of our ministry. (v.9-15)

* Continue to intersect our thoughts and reasoning to give us direction and discernment as to how you will connect us with others for the purpose of sharing the gospel. Just as you connected Cornelius to Peter, how could we possibly miss divine appointments like these unless we are not seeking you or listening to you speak?! Quiet our lives, our minds, our mouths long enough that we can hear your specific direction (v.19-20)

* Let our evangelism cross over cultural lines and transcend cultural barriers as we become increasingly aware that You do not show favoritism, but accept from every nation one who [reveres] You and does what is right. And as we send and go to all tribes and all nations, may the Holy Spirit come on all who hear our message. And they will praise God! (v. 27-35; 44-48)

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
