Blinded by the Light: Acts 9

I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of The Church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament church. Dare we believe it?

Chapter 9
FATHER, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 9...

* Let those who despise and oppose Jesus be set on the road to Damascus! Let them have a significant, humbling and life-changing encounter for the purpose of being used as your instrument to carry the Gospel to those who have not yet heard. (v. 1-15)

* May we be obedient like Ananias to go to and help those whom you ask us to go to and to help, regardless the perceived danger or threat. (v. 10-17)

*   There are those individuals among us that You call and ask to 'sit in the basket' like Paul. They are to be lowered over the wall by ropeholders who will not let the ropes slip out of their hands. And like Paul, may they hear a clarion call, obey you, and go. Don't let them go without the help of ropeholders surrounding them and supporting them--the Body of Christ working in tandem to fulfill the Great Commission. May we all be willing to say: "Here I am, send me!" and trust you to appoint and raise up the ropeholders. (v. 25)

* Remind us that there are seasons of persecution and seasons of peace in The Church. At your appointed time, let our church enjoy a time of peace and be strengthened! Living in the fear of the Lord, let us be encouraged by the Holy Spirit, and increase in numbers. (v. 31)
* WHEN will we have the faith of Peter to expect You to work signs and wonders through us solely for the purpose of others seeing your power and believing in Your name? WHEN will we have the humility of Peter to get down our knees at that moment and secure it in prayer? WHEN will we will have the courage of Peter to get up from that place and act as if our prayer was heard and answered? (v. 39-43)

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
