Ripple Effect: Acts 1

I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of the church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament Church. Dare we believe it?
Day 1/ Chapter 1

Father, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 1...

* May Jesus present Himself to those who need convincing proof that He is alive today (v.3).

* Continue to speak to your Church today about about the Kingdom of God (v. 3).

* Empower us from on high by your Holy Spirit to be your witnesses in our families, our workplace, our communities, our state, our nation and our world (v. 8).

* Do not allow our church to lose focus on our mandate from Christ in Acts 1:8  nor let us lose sight of Christ's mission to seek and save the lost.

* May we not view New Testament believers joined constantly together in prayer (v. 14) as an outdated notion. What could our uniting in prayer birth in our New Testament Church today if we were equally intentional, disciplined, and committed to corporate prayer? May we not presume that we will secure breakthrough or that you will do anything of significant power and influence in and through our church without it.

* Like Peter and the apostles, may our church leaders look to the scriptures for direction prior to and during every transition (v. 20).

* May our church leaders choose and co-govern with like-minded men and remain committed to established scriptural criteria for elder service (v. 21 and v. 22).

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
