What's That Noise? Acts 2

I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of the church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament Church. Dare we believe it?

Father, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 2...
* Let Acts 2:1 serve as a reminder to us that one meeting of like-minded believers can be historic in the life of a church--our church! Give us expectant hearts to dare to believe you could/would repeat what you did on Pentecost and at other awakenings recorded in Church history.

* Fill our expectant House with a season of "suddenlies" and may Heaven signal the arrival of an overwhelming power of your Spirit (v.2). Let the fire fall! (v. 3)

* Fill us with your Spirit, and may we be given languages and utterances to speak the gospel in the language of nations, that all could hear us speak of the mighty deeds of God in their own language (vv. 4-11).

* Fulfill your Word and pour out your Spirit on all flesh, that male and female, young and old will operate in the supernatural for the glory of God and the edification of the Body (vv. 17-18).

* Grant wonders in the sky above and signs here among us on earth and draw multitudes to our altar, that all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (vv. 19-21).

* Like Peter, may the crucified and resurrected Christ be preached in our pulpit and through our mouths as we go to be salt and light in our families, workplace, and community (vv. 22-24).

* Like David, may we be men and women after your own heart who rejoice that you have made known to us the ways of life, filling us with gladness with your Presence (vv. 28).

* Pour forth the power of your Spirit in such a way that unbelievers both see and hear (v. 33).

* May all who hear the gospel from our pulpit in person, by airwave, or live stream be pierced to heart and ask, "What must we do to be saved?"  (v. 37).

* May we be equipped and prepared to present the gospel and steps to salvation clearly and boldly (v. 38).

* Call this city to Yourself, Lord! (v. 39)

* Stir and cause the inhabitants in this city to know their need of a Savior in this perverse generation. May we believe You to add thousands of souls to the Kingdom in one hearing of the Word (v. 40).

* Let us devote ourselves to the teaching, fellowship, communion and prayer in this House. Cultivate in us discipline, faithfulness and steadfastness in prayer, that the prayer lives of the New Testament Church would be desired and developed in us (v. 42).

* Just as in the Early Church, we want to see signs and wonders take place through consecrated pastors, leaders and believers in such a way that all who you will draw to this House will have a continuous sense of awe of your power and presence (v. 43).

* May we share in sacrificial ways with the Body, that no one be lacking, especially during the hardships of this economy (vv. 44-45).

*  Day by day, let us continue with one mind in this House. Multiply life groups like living cells and in such a way that there will build in this community and city a fellowship of believers, gathering with gladness and sincerity of heart (v. 47).

* Give the Church in this city favor with all people and add to our number DAILY those who are being saved (v. 47).

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
