From Table Waiters to Martyrs: Acts 6

I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of The Church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament church. Dare we believe it?

Day 6/Chapter 6
FATHER, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 6...

* Show our pastor and pastoral staff where and when to appoint those full of the Spirit of wisdom to take on certain responsibilities so that they can give their attention to prayer and the ministry of the Word. May they vigilantly guard against any distraction in these two areas. (v.1-4)

* Exam and align our pastor's and pastoral staff's priorities so that first and foremost, they would be men of prayer and the Word, just as the leaders of the Early Church. (v. 4)

* Raise up more Stephens among us, full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, to be appointed to work alongside our pastor and pastoral staff to free them up for prayer and the ministry of the Word. May these lay leaders be full of God’s grace and power, performing great wonders and signs among the people. May they be empowered by the Spirit of wisdom in such a way that no one can stand against them when they speak. (v. 5-8; v. 10)

* Let the number of disciples increase rapidly in our city, and may those who have a religion but not a relationship with Christ become obedient to the faith. (v.7)

* History continues to reveal that when a Man of God walks in power, anointing, and wisdom in such a way that no can speak against him, some may fabricate reasons and bring false witnesses to discredit him. Silence the mouths of the unrighteous who would even consider to plot against the Man of God in this House. And give the Man of God grace and dignity to bear up under it, trusting God with the outcome. May the glory of God be seen in his face when he is intently inspected by accusers. (v. 12-15)

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
