Sorry, No Pocket Change: Acts 3

I am praying through the 28 chapters of the Book of Acts, one chapter per day, for my New Testament church. I post these prayer points on my blog as a resource for those who desire to not just read about the power and growth of the church, but want to see it manifested today in their own New Testament Church. Dare we believe it?

Father, according to Your Word and the principles of Acts 3...

* Amidst the "busyness" of establishing and managing the rapidly growing ministry of the Early Church, if the leaders and believers then were committed to a daily one-hour time of corporate prayer in the House, could we be? (v. 1)

* Like Peter and John, may we walk and speak in the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and perform miracles, in His name. May those who observe take notice and be filled with wonder and amazement at the miracles they witness (v.2-10).

* Do not let others marvel at us or let us be puffed up with pride! May we make it known to those who scorn and reject Jesus in their ignorance that it is on the basis of faith in His Name that these miracles are performed (v. 12-17).

*  Aside from the unchurched, give us the audience that Peter spoke to in Acts 3: a Jewish community who knew the scriptures!  Increase the Messanic Jewish voice in this city! Let it be known that Jesus has fulfilled the prophecies of their ancient scriptures and has paid in full their penalty for sin by suffering and dying on their behalf. May they repent and believe, just as many responded in the days of Peter (v.17-26).

We agree,
in the Name of Jesus
and according to Your Word.
